Freezer arrived and no damage. The 2 men that brought our chest freezer were very respectful, friendly, and kept us up on their time of arrival. For example I was going to have them just set the freezer in the middle of the room and I would move it towards the wall because I had some cords for our internet that I was concerned about. They said "let us help you since you have the man power available." They helped and were very careful! Thanks for hiring great employees!

We've had it for a few months now and it has worked perfectly. We love the large capacity, the baskets, and organizational compartments for the bottom of the freezer. These make it much easier to access all the food in the freezer quickly and without having to move a lot of frozen food to find something. We also like that it's garage ready if at some point in the future we need to move it to a garage. Like all chest freezers we've owned it does need defrosting every 2-3 months but we just use this as an opportunity to remind us what's in the freezer and needs to get eaten up.

So far nothing but trouble with this freezer. the over temp light stays on, the alarm goes off randomly. the compressor runs and never turns off even though the temp is -18 degrees. The compressor will give out if it does not shut off. Had a tech out to check it out 2 times and still have the same issue. 400lbs of beef and stuck with this.

I just got my new freezer today and so far I love the size and the organization dividers for the bottom as well as the baskets for the top. We originally bought a stand up Frigidaire freezer and in less than two months it wouldn™™t maintain its temperature. Lowe™™s was great about returning it for this GE chest freezer and what a difference in space. I will never buy a standup freezer again and am looking forward to Lowe™™s picking it up this week!!

We have only had this about a month. So far, it is great. Every time I open the lid, the temperature is right a 0. I like the grid for the bottom - and that it can be conformed to whatever our needs are is really nice. I did order extra baskets which I thought were pretty expensive....they should have been included.
Only problem so far is that it arrived with a small dent in one corner on the front. I am pretty picky, so the only one that has noticed it.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Obviously the temperature is fine, it's a freezer and it works. Need every square centimeter of storage for frozen product in boxes/bags so do not use any of the included plastic bins and honestly think it's a waste to include them as they have almost no weight capacity supported by a thin plastic rail. Do wish the power cord was twice as long as well, it's like GE has never installed a freezer more than 3 feet from a plug?

WOW!!! It was finally time to purchase a new freezer. Our old one was still working well but its age posed risks that made me uncomfortable. It was 54 years old!!! I love the new 21.7 cu ft chest freezer we purchased. I researched many freezers and decided this was the best option for us. I really like that it came with 5 baskets (and I just ordered and additional 2). I like the chest style but if you don't have baskets things will get lost forever. I am so happy with our new freezer!

I have purchased 3 of these freezers and enjoy the ease of the baskets for organizing the food.
So far they are doing a great job in keeping the food frozen with minimal frost build up.
I would have given 5 stars if the track that holds on the bottom baskets was more substantial. Beware they crack if anything knocks against it.

We ordered this freezer before splitting a full beef with a couple of families. This freezer was easy to put the storage parts together, easy to organize and holds more than 420 lbs of beef, as well as several other bulk items for our food storage. The baskets are great! Although I wish there were an additional second shelf sliding basket. Highly recommend!

We have had this model freezer in our garage in Florida for 7 years and have had no problems with it. However, the two complaints I have are 1. the vents along the back side of the freezer lid accumulates frost that you have to remove frequently. 2. The gasket was failing after 7 years and frost was building up around the top 6-7 " all around the circumstance of the freezer. That is why we had to replace the freezer. The gasket is part of the lid and we were told that the lid couldn't be replaced. Luckly we had Lowes insurance and they helped pay for the new freezer that had increased in price by over $700.

This freezer has a lot of room and I love the storage baskets, light that comes on when you open the lid, and that it is garage ready. The bottom of the freezer is not as strong as I hoped. A frozen item dropped accidentally and left a dent at the bottom. Overall though it is a great freezer.

After having this chest freezer for over a year, I will say that is one of the best decisions have made in terms of buying a freezer. It's very spacious and freezes items very well. Having a key to lock it makes it safe and protected from children opening it for no reason and from theft. I definitely recommend to anyone thinking of getting a chest freezer.

The appliance arrived with a dent for which I received partial credit. The lid is very heavy to lift when opening the freezer. It is doing a good job keeping things frozen, but frost seems to be building up more quickly than my old freezer. I would give it a 3.5 if I could for now.
