This hood replaced an older under the cabinet model. Took more time to install than directions suggest and definitely a two person job. The metal exterior is very thin and can easily be damaged during installation if you are not careful. Love the lights, but fan is noisy on higher speeds.

This range hood has all you need. The lighting is great, fan adjusts from a quiet fan to being able to clear the kitchen if need be. It gets a big thumbs up from me.

In a nutshell: I paid for a licensed contractor to install this unit. There was no power cord included, so I paid for one. After hours of setup and $145 I found out the unit does not work. The contractor traced the power all the way to the sealed unit in this fan. Paid $466 for fan and 145 for install. $611 spent and still no fan. Who is doing the QC on these?

We bought the hood to go with the rest of the kitchen suite we bought. I is not too noisy on max fan. The lighting is PERFECT, especially in our poorly lit kitchen.

This unit is mounted above our gas range and both match in black Slate. Looks great together! There was an issue when we first had the hood installed but it was corrected later by the installer. The circuit board must not have been fully connected since the control panel wouldn™™t turn on the lights or the fan. It is working great now that it has been taken care of and we™™re quite happy with it. We were still able to mount cabinets above this hood, which I love (more storage space!)

Poor design

Hood looks great, but that is it. Failure is in the design of it. The fan that sucks the steam from a boiling pot is located on the left side. Where my cooktop biggest burner or the burner that gets the most usage is the front right. The fan is not able to work correctly. Poor design. The hood people do not talk with the range people to properly design a compatible product.
I even had GE customer support come out to agree with me. Unfortunately I have t heard back as to how GE will fix this issue that they created.
See photos of the hood dripping with condensation due to fan not able to suck and recirculated back into my house.
These photos were taken while the GE service rep was watching and documenting as well.
Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?
GE can you please fix this?

The fan only works on 1/4 of the unit. It won't even hold a tissue up when it is on high. The moisture drips from the removeable grease filters onto the stovetop or into the pan on the stove. Moisture collects on the outside of the range hood along the touch panel and drips onto the stove top from the front of the range hood, even when the fan is on HIGH! The controls on my range get covered with moisture every time I boil water. I am afraid my new range and the hood will short out because everyone knows electricity and water do not mix. I even have videos I have sent to GE , but they all tell me the range hood works as designed. I would be embarrassed to even admit I designed a range hood that does not vent! I have been trying to get the issue resolved for a year to no avail. I have been GE's biggest fan for years! I never even looked at another company, but I will NEVER purchase another GE again! No one is willing to do anything about the issue other than sending someone out to look at for the sixth time, which I must take a day off from work since no one is available on Saturday. Someone has been out here 5 different times. Nothing gets fixed. Unfortunately I cannot upload a video to show how well the exhaust fan works.

Looks good. Relatively easy install (we did it ourselves). Easy electrical. It's a very tight fit, but we got it in there. Lights are very bright, which is great! Very powerful fan on high.

Moves a lot of air, but my goodness it is loud! The manual should have more info about the filters that are REQUIRED for recirculating installs like a part number or dimensions anything would have been helpful. That said it is the only hood on the market in this size and with the same finish as my range, so it™™s easily the best looking option. Works really well.

I got this hood in black slate to go with the 30" free standing range( also in black Slate). It is amazing !!!! Not only is it very sleek looking but the LED lights give my kitchen a nice glow. Then there's the fan....WOW !!! That thing will take care of everything plus some. Very happy with the purchase.

Purchased a 20 yr old home that had all GE Profile appliances except for the refrigerator. Having been to the Intl Home Builders show in Las Vegas we saw the full line of Profile appliances. When we returned home we realized that the vent/range hood needed to be replaced. We found it at our local Home Depot and with their knowledgeable staff decided on this model. Very glad we did!
